Make Your Voice Heard: Write a Letter to the Editor
Vermont enjoys an active debate among its citizens through the "letters to the editor" section of its daily and weekly newspapers. You don't need to be an expert to take part in the discussion, you just need to have an opinion and be willing to express it.
We encourage you, once you have written a letter, to send it to more than one newspaper (especially your local weekly, Windsor County dailies, and other daily newspapers around the state). Editors write editorials, and can be influenced by receiving a letter even if it is not published (reading letters is one way they gauge public opinion).
Always include your name, address, and a telephone number that the newspaper can call to verify that you are the sender.
